Audio-Visual Solutions for the Mining Industry
The mining industry is a lucrative one that manages various natural resources that are of environmental and economic importance. This booming industry is not left out of reach of the audio-visual impact.
The industry has its major activities revolving around the extraction of minerals from underground following different procedures, the extraction of precious materials and other geological materials are transformed into minerals that can be converted for economic benefit.
There are various processes of extracting minerals from the earth’s surface, the medium of extraction provides means of integration of audio-visual system to facilitate the process of mining.

Mining Types
Underground mining
This is a common practice for minerals embedded in deeper deposits, this method involves creating tunnels and shafts underground by digging down to the earth to reach resource deposit. The types of underground mining used to depend on the mineral to be mined. Drift mining involves creating horizontal tunnels, while slope mining makes use of diagonal shafts to reach the mineral deposit.
Surface mining
Surface mining differentiates from underground mining by the depth reached for extraction. It typically requires the removal of a form of plant life-like trees, or soil or bedrocks to be able to each these resource deposits. Surface mining also makes use of two methods; Open-pit mining digs out rocks to form an open pit while strip mining is used for deposits that are covered by a layer of soft soil or weathered rocks.
Placer mining
In-Situ mining
This method of mining is quite different from the other means of the mining as it does not involve the digging of soil layer to remove intact mineral deposit. Instead, this means allows the infusion of chemicals underground to dissolve the mineral deposit below and pump out the solution back to the surface and further chemical processes involved to extract the minerals from the solution.
